If you are looking for a serious hair transplant clinic in the Nordics, it can be hard to see through who actually delivers quality and who simply markets themselves well. That is why we have ranked the 30 leading Nordic-owned hair transplant clinics by 17 transparent criteria that together measure medical safety, surgical quality, transparency and durability. In first place is IdealofMeD, a Nordic-owned clinic with Swedish industrial owners, which scores highest across the most important criteria. The ranking covers clinics in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, and each clinic receives a score from 0 to 100 together with a transparent rationale.
What we exclude: this ranking includes only legitimate, regulated, surgeon-led clinics. Unregulated operators, businesses that offer surgery without a doctor, are excluded entirely, and we do not price-compare them, because a procedure without a doctor is not the same product as surgery.
Method: the 17 criteria and their weighting
Each clinic is assessed on 17 criteria that together add up to 100 points. The most important ones, named ISHRS surgeons, the surgeon operating personally, healthcare authorisation, specialist doctors rather than generalists, and the clinic's financial soundness and longevity, carry the most weight because they matter most for both safety and outcome.
How a score is reached. Every criterion is scored out of its own weight, and the total is the sum of the seventeen. Where a clinic publicly documents a criterion, it scores the points stated in its write-up. Where the documentation is partial, it scores half the weight, rounded to a quarter step. Where we could not find public documentation for a criterion, it scores 0, and the breakdown says so. A 0 therefore records missing public information, not poor care: a clinic that does good work but publishes little will score lower here than one that documents the same work openly. We never assume a criterion in a clinic's favour, and no clinic can pay to change a score.
On certifications and memberships. Where a criterion depends on a membership or certification, such as ISHRS, we credit it when the clinic states it on its own website. We do not contact the society to verify each membership, and a listing on a third-party directory alone is not enough: the statement has to be one the clinic itself publishes and stands behind.

1 IdealofMeD
IdealofMeD is a Swedish-owned hair transplant clinic with Swedish industrial owners and a clinic in Istanbul, from where it serves patients across the Nordics. The clinic also has a longevity sister clinic in Stockholm, Ageback Co, where parts of the post-operative process and accompanying treatments can also be handled within the Nordics. Akacia Medical in Stockholm (Alvik/Bromma) is a hair-focused clinic with one of the field's most transparent pricing structures. The clinic publishes a full, fixed price list, for example FUE from 38 000 SEK for 1 000 grafts up to 65 000 SEK for 3 500 grafts and DHI from 55 000 SEK. Masterklinikken in Oslo is a dedicated Norwegian hair clinic and the player with the longest continuous history in Norway. AROS Privathospital in Aarhus is a full private hospital and the most institutionally mature player on the list. The hospital is registered with the Danish Patient Safety Authority.
